Planet Sport - TEAMtalk
Project Background
TEAMtalk is one of the UK’s most popular sports websites, focusing on Football and transfer-related news. Originating in the late 1980s, TEAMtalk first operated a successful club news service via premium rate phonelines, before moving online in the mid-90s.
This rebrand and the subsequent overhaul of their web offering represents an exciting new phase in TEAMtalk’s history. The new visual identity will help support the brand in achieving further growth and success in the coming years.
Collaborating closely with a wide consulting team of internal stakeholders from leadership, product and editorial, we started the process of redesigning the TEAMtalk identity through creative discovery and exploration.
Having gathered enough feedback from the business, we set about extending chosen routes to explore how these looked in context through mixed media formats.
This allowed us to better assess which route suited the needs of the client. Following successful selection of a winning route, we worked with internal teams to provide robust brand guidelines and helped schedule the rollout of branded assets to coincide with the launch date.
The launch required careful planning and scheduling to be released alongside the website redesign that we also completed for TEAMtalk in parallel with the rebrand project.
This included complete overhaul of the UI whilst making enhancements that bettered the users’ experience.
This is part of an ongoing shift in attitude that we are spearheading at Planet Sport - where the user comes first and data influences decision making over opinions.
